I just posted my remix story to remixredux09. I'm feeling fairly confident about it. Now I just have to wait the two weeks for the stories to go live. *sigh*

Now I need to concentrate on my stories for summer_of_giles  and sgabigbang . So wish me luck with those.

Poor Liam got sunburned today. He went out to his school's playground to watch a baseball game and now his face and part of his neck are all red. Meanwhile Sarah continues to be a crawling champ. She's also sitting up on her own and pulling herself up every now and then. I forsee cruising or walking coming up very soon, once she gets a bit more strength in her legs.

I hope all of you who celebrated had a safe and happy fourth of July. Let's hope this upcoming week is a good one. *crosses fingers*

For all my SGA peeps.

I don't remember if it's explicitly stated in canon, but I know that SGA authors just LOVE to wax lyrically about how John can hear/feel Atlantis with him having the strongest expression of the Ancient gene (besides Jack), so I naturally assume that others who have the gene naturally (ie Carson) can probably hear/feel the city too, to a lesser extent. But what about those who have the artificial gene, like Rodney? Do you think they can 'feel' the city? And if they do, to what extent?

It's for a story, I promise!

I hope all my American friends are celebrating safely.

Now excuse me while I go enjoy a very British tradition. Wimbolden. Giles would approve.

Am I the only one bored by this season of So You Think You Can Dance?

Okay, I”ve had this rant boiling under the surface for a while. Recently EW.com and the Long Island Examiner both ran list that were “Top (whatever number) Sidekicks”. Now the EW list was not new, it ran last year I think, and I made a rant about it, but in their defense they ran it again to honor the number one on the list, Ed McMahon.

But I have a problem with both of these lists. As Buffy’s sidekick they both list Willow. But where in the heck in Xander? If in the EW list Harry Potter can have both Ron and Hermione why can’t Buffy have Xander?

It can’t be because he’s a guy. Again, Harry has both his best mate, Ron but he also has gal pal Hermione. Can it be because he’s just an ordinary guy? Sorry that just doesn’t wash. That’s why we all love Xander, BECAUSE he is ordinary. Xander is us. Xander saves the world by just being himself, with his love for his best bud, Willow.

Is it because the people writing these lists are guys who have crushes on Alyson Hannigan? I’d buy that in the case of the Long Island list, but the EW list had multiple authors many of whom were women. Could it be because he’s seen as a romantic interest for Buffy? I don’t buy that either. As much as I ship Buffy/Xander there is little canon evidence for it. She turns him down in the first season. And even though we get great B/X family vibes at the beginning of season seven, those are quickly forgotten the moment Spike returns to the screen.

So why is Xander forgotten. I really can’t fathom why. He would be on my list that’s for sure. All I know is that if future lists leave him out, I’ll be leaving comments complaining as I already have done for the Long Island and EW lists.

The Stargate Fan Awards are open for voting!

There are some really great authors who have stories up for awards. Yes, there are a lot of categories and sub-categories, but I think it is well worth wading through all the links to make sure that these authors get recognition.

And yes, I am up for some of these awards. In case you are interested this is where I am nominated(under the name 2ndAlto)-  in SG1-Fanfiction: Slash>Jack/Daniel>Episode Based. In SGA Fanfiction: Ship>Other Pairing>Angst, Ship>Other Pairing>Drama, Slash>Sheppard/McKay>Angst.

Most of all I urge you to vote. There are a lot of stories. Take a day and read, then vote. Stargate fandom has some of the best authors around, please make sure they get recognized.

Now of course Bradley was buying them when I got up so I wasn't awake enough to make sure he got the right DATES. I'm leaving out of here on Friday instead of Thursday. But at least I'm going to be there. He'll be punished later.

Ok, now I just need to keep saving to get the autographs I want. I need to prioritize. Off to make list. More stuff later!

Just when I thought I couldn't love Paul McGillion anymore, he goes and says something totally awesome.

Okay, so Twitter was all abuzz with the news and now CNN is confirming it. I'm not sure how I feel about this.

Yeah MJ was a big part of my childhood and there is no doubt that he leaves behind a big musical legacy. But then there is everything else that surrounded his life in the last 15-20 years that kinds of taints all that.

But worst of all is that his death will overshadow the very sad passing of Farrah Fawcett who passed away after a three year battle with anal cancer. And that makes me angry and sad because I feel that she deserves to be remembered as well.

With his death, that makes three. Good bye MJ. RIP Ed McMahon and Farrah.

I rock at writing today.

I looked at some of the storied of my remixee for remix-redux. I think I found one I want to do. I'm going to have another look see tomorrow.

I also worked on my story for summer_of_giles . I'm not exactly sure where this story is going but I'm sure having fun getting there! I', thinking there is ritualistic sex and/or bloodletting in the future.

And I got my sgabigbang story from 666 words to over 2500. I've stopped for the day because I need to revisit canon to refresh my memory on some things. It's oh so angsty so far. And it's only going to get angstier.

Sarah is definitely growing up. She’s crawling.

It’s not the traditional crawling, but it counts. She puts her arms out and then pulls herself forward. I told my mom this and she called it the Army crawl, apparently I did this as well, so Sarah comes by it naturally. She’s also babbling with consanants. It’s all ‘bbbbbbb’, ‘ffffffff’ or ‘dddddd’, I’m waiting for ‘mmmmmmm’.

She’s into everything, smiles at all of us, especially her daddy and brother. She can get to sitting position from laying down flat and sits by herself for about 30 seconds. She loves to bounce. Has only met one food she didn’t like, asparagus.

Since she’s crawling, that means we need to keep a constant eye on her and go find some baby gates. *sigh* I wish she could have stayed small just a little longer.

I'm so glad that you are here. I hope that you will find a story that you feel comfortable working with. You'll find my master list here, it's a better place to go looking for all my more recent endeavours than my website which is woefully out of date. The list is helpfully divided into fandoms and yes, even by pairings/characters in the Buffy fandom (I'm just OCD about that sort of thing).
